Pesticide Use Ordinance Now in Effect for Private Property
The Portland Pesticide Use Ordinance officially went into effect as of January 1, 2019. This ordinance prohibits the use of synthetic pesticides on all private and public property - with the goal of protecting the health of our waterways, residents, pets, and natural ecosystems. Current key Initiatives

Smart City Initiatives
Smart city technologies enhance services for city residents and visitors, and lead to a more sustainable city. Projects under consideration include public WiFi in parts of the City, intelligent traffic signals in select locations, EV charging stations, and environmental sensors that can provide information about noise levels and air quality.
